Best Super Eagles New Players
The Premier League has traditionally featured Nigerian players. The Super Eagles' participation in the most watched association, from Efan Ekoku to the most recent addition, Joe Aribo, has remained one of the many reasons Nigerians anticipate the approach of threats each August/September.
The
Super Eagles had eight (8) super eagles new players in the Premier League
previous season, but with Watford releasing three Nigerians and the impending
departure of Ademola Lookman from Leicester City, the Super Eagles added two
new players in Taiwo Awoniyi and Joe Aribo from Union Berlin and Rangers.
Joe Aribo (Southampton)
Despite the fact that Southampton
ultimately lost, Aribo scored a fantastic goal on his debut, moving through a
sea of defenders to score a goal that can only be compared to a signature
Maradona or Messi goal. The midfielder arrived from Rangers, who became
runners-up in the UEFA Europa League, and he is anticipated to make his debut
when the team goes to face Tottenham Hotspur.
Taiwo Awoniyi
(Nottingham Forest)
After a productive season in the
Bundesliga with Union Berlin, Awoniyi moves to the Premier League to join
Nottingham Forest as one of the super
eagles new players. Awoniyi will be expected to defend the club record fee of
£17.5 million, according to the club. The Premier League season of Nottingham
Forest gets underway against Newcastle United.
Alex Iwobi
(Everton)
Iwobi has emerged as a crucial player
in Frank Lampard's plans for the 2022–23 season after helping Everton avoid
relegation last year. Iwobi's two goals lessened the strain on the manager of
the Toffees. They play Chelsea to open the season, a team they defeated 1-0
last year despite battling relegation.
Kelechi
Iheanacho (Leicester City)
Iheanacho is still a crucial part of
Brendan Rodgers' team despite not being able to match his 12-goal performance
from the 2020–21 campaign. Iheanacho has it easier to get playing time because
Leicester City hasn't been active in the transfer market. Jamie Vardy, Ayoze
Perez, and Patson Daka are his biggest competition for the starting position.
Frank Onyeka
(Brentford)
Onyeka was demoted to substitute
positions after his first few games with Brentford because he didn't live up to
the hoopla surrounding his entry into the Premier League. The tough-tackling
midfielder will need to outperform Vitaly Janelt and Christian Nrgaard if he
wants to play on a regular basis. He might benefit from Christian Eriksen's
departure as well.
