The Eagles' 2-0 home and away wins were lauded, but George Weah's kingsmen fared poorly in the 2013 AFCON Qualifiers.

After being held to a 1-1 draw by Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou during the 1992 AFCON qualification matches, the Super Eagles returned to Lagos with a goal. The Super Eagles defeated the Stallions 7-1 at Surulere National Stadium.

On Valentine's Day 1977, the Nigerian national team played a friendly match against the neighbouring Benin Republic, but there was no brotherly love on display.

Tiko Jelisavcic's Eagles defeated the Squirrels 7-0 in Lagos, owing to hat-tricks from Thompson Usiyen and doubles from Godwin Iwelimo. Both Samuel Ojebode and Alloysius Atuegbu scored goals while the Squirrels were watching the seven wonders of Lagos.

This 63-year-old triumph represented the nation's largest victory ever prior to Sao
