Peseiro has a degree in physical education/sports sciences. He has coached at Al-Hilal, Al-Wahda, and Al-Ahly Cairo, in addition to Sporting Lisbon, FC Porto, Panathinaikos, Rapid Bucharest, Sporting Braga, and Victoria.

His clients include Sharjah FC, Real Madrid (assistant coach during the Galacticos period), the Saudi Arabian, and Venezuelan national teams.

When the Super Eagles' coaching staff was replaced in February, the NFF remarked, "we believe that there may be a possibility to work with him in the future." As a result of the decision, Peseiro protested his selection as Nigeria's head coach.
